The Indianapolis Episode
Place & Year: Indianapolis, Indiana ,USA / 2007
I have heard of F1 racing and had seen it a few times in TV. A very few names I
could recognize were Michael Schumaker,Alonso and the rest I barely remember.
And after a few weeks ,I had an opportunity to go to watch this F1 Finale at Indianapolis
(World’s capital for Racing) and I dint want to miss it.

Union Station, Chicago
The trip started on a sunny Sunday morning along with my not-so friendly friends
in two cars ,although two of my really friendly friends accompanied me. It was a
nice long ride to Indianapolis.I had my friends Handycam and was trying to shoot
every possible moment in the city and as I was shooting ,I felt a very strange atmosphere
of crowded people and parking lots (even people used their own houses as external
parking charging 10 bucks) and I knew I was really near it.
It was a really hot day but the first glimpse of the F1 stadium told the whole story. It
was massive with a capacity of around 3 lakhs and just imagine…it was Jam packed
and before the stadium was traffic jams…police jeeps…marketing camps and slogans
for Ferrari prominently seen, After a long search;was in the stadium;it was really
hot;but the first time I heard a Ferrari starting;I knew why I had been given a
ear plug…it literally tore my ear drum apart. And it started then…I was really near
the racing pitch (I don’t know what they call it) and near a turn. The race started
with an anthem and then with the first lap ;cars shaking and making noise and all
that…then started the real lightning race…huh….mind blowing …it was just in a flash
of an eye…everything flew….72 laps 2 hrs….just mind blowing and for the first time…I
knew what SPEED really means…..
It was really thrilling for me but ;at the end…Hamilton came the first;second Alonso;third
Massa….after the ceremony we started….came home…simple….and thus ended the Indianapolis
Episode…
